

Roger T. Whitley passed away June 2,2026. He was born August 17, 1931 in Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee to Casper and Mary Whitley along with three sisters who preceded him in death (Louise Taylor, Elizabeth Deaver and Peggy Rentfro).
He served in the U.S. Army then worked at E.T. Lowe Publishing Company in Nashville, Tennessee where he married Helen Hooper Whitley on July 28, 1962. They remained faithfully married for nearly 55 years before her death in June 2017. They had two children (Stacy Whitley Parrish and David Alan Whitley) and four grandchildren (Jared Lee Parrish, Zachary Taylor Parrish, John Thomas Whitley, and Caleb David Parrish).
Roger was a faithful member of Third Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon for many years. He was a basketball fan and held season tickets for the Vanderbilt Commodores for many years.
He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
A resident of Nashville, Tennessee, Mr. Whitley’s visitation will be held at Mount Olivet Funeral Home & Cemetery, 1101 LEBANON PIKE, NASHVILLE, TN 37210, US, on June 5, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, followed by the Funeral Service at the same location from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
A Committal Service will take place on June 5, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm at External Service Location, 1101 Lebanon Pike, Nashville, TN 37210, US.
