

Giles Jr., Roy William - Age 83; passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 29 at Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN. Born February 21, 1930 in Baltimore, MD, known to many as Wilbo, he was the son of the late Roy William Giles and Sara Margaret Neal Giles. He grew up in Marion, NC and attended Christ School in Arden, NC. He attended the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill graduating in June 1952 with a degree in Business Administration. He spent his career selling textile thread and retired in 1995 from American Efird, Inc. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Reva Gunter Giles, his children, Robert Glynn Giles, Durango, CO; Elizabeth Giles Loftin, Charlotte, NC; Lillian Giles Link and husband Mike, Gastonia, NC; Sara (Neal) Giles Hill and husband Jeff, Greensboro, NC; Doug Pittman and wife Leigh, Spruce Pine, NC, and grandchildren, Jordan Giles Bonfitto, Jimi Lambeth Giles, Giles Chance Loftin, Lindsay Nettles Loftin, Charles Jeffrey (Jay) Evitt, Jr., Ashley Link Haugh, Nathan Dail Hill, Jason Lambeth Hill and great grandchildren, Ethan Evitt, Ariana Petty, Calli Haugh and Natalie Bonfitto. He is also survived by sister-in-laws, Rose Gunter Smith and husband Bill, and Pat Gunter Howell and husband Ben. Everyone who knew Wilbo knew he was a true southern gentleman, an awesome husband, father and friend. He had quite a sense of humor , never failed to have a great smile on his face and was always ready for the next adventure. He loved people and was a natural salesman. We all loved him dearly and will miss him always. A Memorial service will be held at two thirty in the afternoon, on Saturday, the 5th of October in Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall. The family will receive friends immediately after the service at Woodlawn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Alive Hospice, 1718 Patterson Street, Nashville, TN 37203.
