Roy attended and graduated from Mount Juliet High School. After high school, he attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications. Professionally, Roy worked as a freelance paralegal.
Roy is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Marvin Whitehead; paternal grandmother, Wilton Whitehead; maternal grandmother, Lucille Green; and maternal grandfather, J. P. Green. He is survived by his father, Roy M. Whitehead, Sr.; his mother, Evelyn L. (Green) Whitehead; his sisters, Peggy Whitehead and Debbie Whitehead Rector (Tim); his nephew, Brennan Pate; and nieces, Allison Pate and Megan Pate.
Roy will be inurned on Tuesday, April 2, at 11:00am in the Garden of Everlasting Life at Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared with the Whitehead family by selecting “Add a Memory” at the bottom of this page.
