

Ruby Gladys Baker Gibson age 96, of Nashville, TN, passed away Friday, February 12, 2016. She was known for her love of family, kindness, grace, beauty, infectious smile and impeccable sense of style. Mrs. Gibson was preceded in death by the love of her life, Joseph C. Gibson and daughter, Donna Kay Owens. Mrs. Gibson was born in Smith County, TN, on June 8, 1919, the daughter of the late William Campbell Baker, Sr. and Maude Winfree Baker. She graduated with a B. S. Degree from Middle Tennessee State College. During WWII while her dear Joe was serving as a fighter pilot in the South Pacific, she worked in a defense plant in Detroit. After the war she dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren. She was a devoted member of Woodmont Baptist Church for over sixty years. Survivors include her children, Connie Sue Centrella, Betty Claire Seabourn (Lonnie), and Joseph C. Gibson, Jr. (Karen); ten grandchildren, Dena Helms, Dale Seabourn, Paula Bruch, Heather Graffagnino, Linda Hall, Joseph Gibson, III, James Gibson, Larry Seabourn, Ruby Kozak, and Robert Seabourn; and seventeen great-grandchildren. A multitude of nieces, nephews, and friends also survive. Visitation will be held Tuesday from five o’clock until eight o’clock and Wednesday from eleven until the funeral hour at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, February 17, 2016, at one o’clock, in Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall with Richard Dickerson officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
