Sheila G. Lewis, 82, of Lebanon, Tennessee, passed away on July 12, 2026. Born in Nashville, Tennessee, on January 17, 1944, Sheila built a life defined by steady devotion and a spirit that lifted the people around her.
A hard-working woman through and through, Sheila retired from AVCO Aerospace in Nashville, Tennessee—work that reflected the determination and resilience she carried in every season of life. Yet it was away from any job title that her most cherished gifts shone: a compassionate heart, a kind way of seeing others, and a loyal presence that could be counted on. She had a warm sense of humor that brightened ordinary days, and an adventurous streak that kept her outlook open and hopeful.
Sheila was preceded in death by her parents, G.L. Hutchins and Ressie Hutchins; and two sisters, Judy Smithson and Joyce Alexander.
She is survived by her son, Christopher Reese; nieces, Shannon Smithson Adams and Pam Spencer Gibson; nephews, Darrell Smithson, Phillip Smithson, Randy Spencer and Jimmy Spencer; and a host of great nieces, great nephews, and friends who will carry her memory forward with gratitude and love.
