Shirley was born in McKinnon, TN to the late Elmer and Robbie Jobe McClanahan. She is preceded in death by her husband, Albert W. “Al” Williams; son, Gary Williams; and sister, Rose Marie Scheuring. Shirley will be lovingly remembered by her children, Randy Williams, Charlotte Williams, and Karen Dunning; sister, Diana Stringfield; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
After briefly living in East St. Louis and Detroit, Michigan, Shirley came back to Nashville to start a family. After raising her four children, Shirley went to work for Castner-Knott’s, and later Dillard’s in the Harding Mall Shopping Center where she was a familiar face in the ladies dress department for more than 25 years.
Shirley will be laid to rest in the Prophecy Garden in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
