Stanley Dewey Green age 93 of Nashville, Tennessee, departed this life on January 16, 2021. He was born in Stewart County, Tennessee to the late Dewey George and Eunice Griffin Green. He graduated from Austin Peay State University.
On January 18, 1951 he married the love of his life, Anita "Ann" Atkins and they spent the next 70 years together. He was drafted during the Korean War and after the war ended he returned to Clarksville. He began working for H. G. Hill Grocery Stores prior to his entry in the military. He started as a stock boy and worked his way into management. He transferred to Mount Pleasant as manager for H.G. Hill for four years and was transferred to Nashville. He worked at the H.G. Hill Headquarters and later retired after 43 years as a Buyer.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Green of Nashville; daughter, Kate Hammett of Nashville; two grandsons, Michael (Amy) Hammett of Seattle, Washington and Timothy Hammett of Garberville, California; two great-granddaughters, Riley and Harper.
A Graveside Service will be held at one o'clock in the afternoon on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Harpeth Hills Memorial Gardens, 9090 TN-100, Nashville, TN 37221.
