Born on February 11, 1959, in Chicago, Illinois, he was the second oldest son of the late Wayne and Helen (Wilson) Bosshardt. Steven graduated from Palatine High School and the University of Illinois where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business and economics, laying the foundation for his 40-year career in finance and commercial banking. He settled in middle Tennessee permanently in his late 20s as he had family history and ties to Centerville, Tennessee through his late grandfather Honorable Judge John M. Wilson.
Steven was known for his kind and generous heart. He was a friend to all and there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do to help someone in need. He had a sharp wit and often came up with comical words and phrases that would end up being used by friends and family and become staples in their daily discourse. He was an avid audiophile and had a passion for all types of music, especially classic rock and anything by his beloved Allman Brothers. Steven also enjoyed rooting for his various sports teams (Cubs, Braves, Bears, Predators) whether in person or on TV and was always up for the adventure of a spontaneous road trip.
Above all, Steven was supremely dedicated to his family. He was a man of principle and deep compassion and would often be the glue to hold family ties together. When you were loved by Steven, you knew it. He was a gentle spirit, a man of few words, but his actions spoke volumes. He is survived by his life-long companion, Valerie A. Saggese; his three brothers, David (Corinne) Bosshardt, Wayne (Kim Brey) Bosshardt, and Richard (Nicole) Bosshardt; his two nephews, Kevin Bosshardt and Curtis Bosshardt, and his niece, Katelyn Bosshardt.
