

Born November 1, 1952 in Greenville, S.C., Steve traveled the world in his early years as a military family. Settling in Nashville in his teens, he enjoyed a career of construction before his retirement in early 2009. His proudest accomplishment was watching his work take shape as the Nashville airport was expanded.
Predeceased in death by his parents, Charles Arthur Hair and Wilma (John) Waterman.
Survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Celeste Brackman Waterman, son Eric Jeffrey (Stefanie) Waterman, Rachel Celeste (Ryan) Smith, and Christopher Kenneth Waterman, along with brothers Kenneth (Peggy) Waterman and John Andrew Waterman, Jr., and sister Cristal (Ron) Osteen, and beloved grandchildren Jeffrey Waterman, Kylie Smith, Paisley Smith and Oliver Smith. Additionally, he is survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Steve loved watching his Alabama football team each season and enjoyed riding his motorcycle. His hobbies included raising tropical fish, photography and playing his musical instruments.
Visitation was held at Marshall Donnelly-Combs funeral home on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 followed immediately by a Celebration of Life service.
