Sylvia Brinkley Wurstner

Sylvia Brinkley Wurstner was born in Nashville, Tennessee, on April 4, 1938, to James and Arpie Brinkley. She grew up in Nashville and attended Cohn High School. In 1960, Sylvia graduated from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, where she met her husband Roland "Ron" Wurstner.

The couple was blessed with three loving sons. Ron was a member of the United States Air Force, leading the family of five to move to various states and countries. Sylvia earned her Series 7 Commemorative Securities Certificate and worked as an administrative assistant for several brokerage firms throughout her career.

In 1998, she relocated to Vestavia Hills, Alabama. She enjoyed participating in events with her senior group and attending local art shows and theatre productions. Sylvia also loved to shop, dine, and spend time with family.

Sylvia passed on September 16, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by: her three sons, David (Linda), Karl (Jill), and Eric (Traci); eight grandchildren, Alex Wurstner (Nikki), Rachel Wurstner, Sam Wurstner (Katie), Erin Bickley (Jared), Matthew Wurstner, Megan Theune (Peter), Emerick Wurstner, and Isabella Wurstner; and two great-grandchildren, Travis Wurstner and Bennett Bickley.

A Graveside Service will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204, on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
