MATHIAS, Thomas Renich – Charter member of Woodmont Christian Church and originator of Hillsboro Hardware, passed away September 7, 2011 at 85. Mr. Mathias was a graduate of Hillsboro High School and attained a Mechanical Engineering Degree from Vanderbilt University. He also served his country in the United States Air Force. Mr. Mathias was preceded in death by his siblings, Robert Mathias, Marjorie Dobbs and Charles Mathias; as well as his daughter, Carolyn Mathias. He is survived by his wife, Sheila Mathias; son, Dwight Mathias (Susan); daughters, Abby McLean (Blake) and Becca Mathias; sister, Pat Ginsburg (Jack); grandchildren, Duane Mathias, Michelle Casteel, Jason Mathias and Caleb McLean and 6 great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be conducted at 11 am on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Woodmont Christian Church. Visitation will be on Friday from 4-7pm at Woodmont Christian Church.
