Tina Marie Geer

GEER, Tina Marie Schifano -October 18, 1955 - July 20, 2011; she was 55. She was preceded in death by her father, Sam Anthony Schifano. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Dr. Richard John Geer; her children, Katherine Leigh Geer, Christopher John Geer and Elizabeth Ann Geer, all of Nashville; her mother, Mrs. Gertrude Tortorici Schifano of Birmingham; sisters, Sandra Ann Schifano of Birmingham and Mary Schifano Vice of Prattville, AL and brother Joseph Gerard Schifano of Atlanta. Tina was born and raised in Birmingham, AL and graduated from the University of Alabama where she met her husband. She eventually pursued a career in medical technology. Tina worked until her children were born and dedicated the remainder of her life to raising them. She volunteered on numerous committees and was involved with many charitable organizations. Tina was most at peace and happy when she was at the beach with her family and friends. Her family would like to especially thank Dr. Lester Porter for his outstanding care during her illness. Visitation will be at The Cathedral of the Incarnation on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at 9:30 am followed by a Memorial Mass at 11 :00 am at the church.
