ODY, Virgilia A., of Nashville, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on March 31, 2013. She is preceded in death by her parents Earl and Viola Barnes; her brother, Bill Barnes; sisters, Lucretia Barnes and Charlotte Sloan. Virgilia is survived by her brother Ronald Barnes; loving daughters, Lisa Ody and Robin (Leonard) Plunkett; beloved grandchildren, Lindsey and Jared Plunkett; nephews, Tony, Kevin, and Barry Sloan and Brian and Eric Barnes. She spent most of her life caring for others at Pemiscot County Hospital in Hayti, Missouri and later at Clover Bottom in Nashville. She was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt and nana. Some of her favorite things were listening to music (especially bluegrass), reading, history, attending Una Church of Christ and most all of laughter. Visitation will be held with family and friends from four until eight o’clock in the evening on Tuesday, the 2nd of April, 2013 at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at one o’clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, the 3rd of April, 2013 in Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall with visitation held two hours prior to the service. Interment to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
