Virginia Robison LePore passed away peacefully on the morning of May 27th, 2020. She was a devoted wife, mother, master gardener, animal lover, interior decorator, equal rights activists, and was a die-hard Auburn fan!
Virginia was born in Mobile, AL and raised in Alexander City, Alabama. Virginia was the daughter of Fred Allen and Virginia Caroline Dryer Robison. She attended Auburn University where she received a degree in fashion design. Virginia was a jet setter and soon set her sails for Dallas, TX with her best friend, Sandra by her side.
Virginia found herself in Johnson City, TN and met a cool Italian named Vito LePore. Within days, they knew they were meant to be together and were married a short time later. Virginia and Vito eventually settled down and planted roots in Nashville after many adventures throughout East TN.
Virginia made her mark on the interior design world of Nashville. Virginia worked and studied under Bill Hamilton and found inspiration working at the Drapery House of Nashville. Eventually, Virginia took the leap and started her own successful interior decorating business, LePore Design’s Plus.
Survivors include her oldest son Michael Lipsey LePore, her daughter Erica Allison LePore and her youngest son, Frederick Thomas LePore (Theresa); four grandchildren, Alexander, Mary-Carson, Avery, and Isabella; sister, Martha Baas of Fairhope, AL and many nieces and nephews. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Vito as well as her older brothers, Fred and Erskin Robison, and her sister Lynn Steele.
Virginia passed away in the early hours of May 27th, 2020. She listened to her favorite three tenors Luciano Pavarotti, Jose Carreras and Placido Domingo and even the Auburn University fight song as she drifted into a peaceful sleep.
The family will have a private memorial during this time and plan to have a celebration of life event when it is safe for everyone to gather in larger groups.
The family would like to express their immense gratitude to the doctors and nurses at St. Thomas West hospital for their care, support, and their thoughtful considerations during this difficult time.
Donations can be made in her memory to Springboard Landings.
