Virginia S. Mayo "Jay" was born October 1, 1957 in Nashville, Tennessee to parents, George Joseph Mayo and Frances Margaret Grove Mayo. She passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2020 at the age of 62 years.

Jay was preceded in death by her parents, George and Frances Mayo and by her brother George R. Mayo.

She is survived by her lifetime best friend Jean Simpkins; by two sisters, Peggy Mayo Ray and Margaret Mayo Hunt; nephews, George L. (Leslie) Mayo, Brett G. Mayo and W. Scott Hunt; great-nephews, Mark A. Mayo, Noah G. Mayo and by two loving fur babies, Wilson and Harvey.

Services for Jay will be Wednesday, March 18, 2020 from the Mount Olivet Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the Historic Mount Olivet Cemetery with nephews serving as pallbearers.

In memory of Virginia "Jay" Mayo, memorial contributions may be made to the Nashville Humane Society.

I am so sorry to have just learned of this. Virginia was one of my Titans buddies at the office for the longest time. Any time I would see either her or Jean, I would always greet with them a Titan Up.
