Virginia Nolen Rader departed this life on October 25, 2020, at the age of 91. She was born to the late Owen Dowell Nolen and Clara Irene Castleman Nolen in Nashville, Tennessee on November 26, 1928, and was the youngest of three girls.
She graduated from Hume Fogg High School in 1947, where she was elected secretary of her class. On January 21, 1955, she married Murray Lewis Rader; with whom she had two daughters, Marilyn and Janet. They lived most of their life together in Louisville, Kentucky.
Virginia was a hard worker, becoming the first female saleswoman at Shumate Business Forms. She worked for several years as a Avon Representative eventually becoming a District Manager and a sales representative at Shillitos Department Store.
Virginia was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. While living in Louisville she was a member of The Wendell Avenue Church of Christ and the Taylorsville Road Church of Christ. For the past 18 years, she was a member of the Cason Lane Church of Christ in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of over fifty years, Murray Lewis Rader and her sister, Margaret Owen Clark.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, two daughters, Marilyn Rader Everett (Steve), Janet Rader Lisak (Mike); four grandchildren, Jonathan Everett (Christina), Justin Everett, Jessica Everett (mark), and Christopher Carden; and four great-grandboys, Mason, Isaac, Eli and Liam; sister, Ruth Colleen Kennedy.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at twelve noon on Saturday October 31, 2020 in Dignity Hall of Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home with a gathering of family and friends from eleven in the morning until time of service at twelve noon. The service will be streamed live on our Facebook @Woodlawn-Roescch. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers: Allen Pratt, Jonathan Everett, John Kennedy, Jim Long, Donnie Rader and Jim Stephenson.
