

She graduated from Waco High School and attended Baylor University before becoming the devoted “air force wife” of pilot Charlie Blackard, Jr. in 1955.
Charlie & Wanda traveled extensively with the Air Force and enjoyed golf, boating and beach trips together.
Wanda (“Mimi” to her grandchildren) was interested in wild birds, genealogy and delighted in working the most difficult sudoku puzzles. She was also a serious mahjong player and enjoyed regular matches with her Bellevue friends. Wanda was active on various committees for River Planation Condominiums where she lived for several years. In the Fall, you would always find Wanda watching SEC football!
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents Aubrey Lee and Eunice Warren, brothers Morris and Aubrey Warren, and the love of her life, Husband, Charlie Blackard, Jr.
She is survived by her son, Charles G. Blackard, III (Susan) of Franklin, TN, daughter, Marilee Pate (Robert) of Gallatin, TN and sister Anita Seiser (Richard) of Irving, TX. “Mimi”’s grandchildren are Warren Pate (Haley), Charlie Blackard IV (Fran), Blair Vaughan (Josh), Shelby Ireland late husband Lynden Ireland) and Will Pate (Jamie). Wanda’s great grandchildren are Camden and Maddox Pate, Millie, Harper and Payton Vaughan, Brylee Ireland, Embree Blackard and Kensley Keller Pate. and several nieces and nephews.
Wanda will be greatly missed by her many good friends at River Planation.
A Remembrance Service will be held at two o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, June 25, 2022 in Lindsley Hall of Mount Olivet Funeral Home.
