Warner Clifton Grubb

He was born on July 21, 1928 to Forest and Patsy Grubb in Scottsville, Kentucky.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years Bobbie Grubb; and three children, Patsy (Burton) Harvey, Nashville, John (Elise) Grubb, Fairfield, CT, and Beth (Mark Smith) Grubb; and grandchildren, Kathryn Moore, Mary Graham and Rob Harvey.

A member of Nashville First Baptist Church and its Good News Bible Class since 1964, Warner served several terms on the Property Committee and was a Lifetime Deacon.

Warner was a civil engineering graduate of the University of Kentucky and an avid fan of “Big Blue” basketball. He began his career in heavy construction with L & N Railroad in 1952. From the L & N, he began a 36-year career with Oman Construction Company. When Oman ended its construction business, Warner worked for seven years with Dillard Construction. He could have retired, but instead went to work for Civil Constructors for the next 14 years and retired at the age of 84. Many Nashville buildings rest on rock bearing his calculations.

Family and friends will gather at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home for visitation on Monday, December 11, 2017 from five o’clock to seven o’clock in the evening. Funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church of Nashville on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at two o’clock in the afternoon followed by a private entombment.
