Wendell was a proud graduate of Glencliff High School. On February 5, 1971, he married the love of his life, Janice Marie Pewitt, in Nashville, Tennessee. Together, they shared more than 55 years of marriage and built a loving family.
Wendell enjoyed a long and successful career in automotive sales, dedicating 50 years to the industry. Outside of work, one of his greatest passions was fishing. He especially enjoyed participating in fishing tournaments and spending time on the water.
Wendell will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Janice Marie Pewitt; his sons, Carson Wayne Pewitt and Clinton Alan Pewitt; his grandchildren, Reagan Pewitt, Hallie Pewitt, Camden Pewitt, and Cailey Pewitt; and his great-grandchildren, Raelynn House and Anderson House; and his siblings, Darlene Murphy and Kenny Pewitt.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Albert Pewitt, Myrna Woods and Caroline Pewitt.
Wendell will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His love for his family, dedication to his work, and passion for fishing will remain a lasting part of the memories he leaves behind.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, Tennessee 37204. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service.
