Wendy Eleni Stringer Brooks, 62, passed away on August 31, 2019 surrounded by her children. "Mothra" was very small, very eccentric, very clever, and very beautiful. The bad parts were bad but the good parts were sublimely good. Her art was prolific. She was well-read, razor-sharp, and she loved songs that told a story. She came from the small world of rural South Carolina and graced Nashville with her light in the 70s. Her presence can still be felt by the friends and acquaintances she met over the years. She befriended EVERYone. Wendy lived millions of different lives in her sixty-two years and we will miss every version of her. She cared deeply about the people in her life and was never happier than when she knew exactly how to make someone else happy. We are devastated about the things in our lives she will miss. Her overall health was challenging, and she was often in pain, but we are relieved she’s beyond the mortal plane now and no longer hurting so badly. We ask that anyone reading this treat mental well-being carefully, because it’s precious and fickle. Wendy is preceded in death by many friends; her daughter, Haley Rose Brooks; her mother, Frances Moseley; her precious grandmother, Wilma Blakeney, and her beloved father, Howard Stringer. She is survived by the countless lives she fluttered in and out of, her siblings, and her children: Noah and his wife Alison Brooks, Catherine Brooks, and Miriam Brooks. Her ashes will be spread in the ocean near Hunting Island, South Carolina.
