

Willene Hooper House passed away on July 3, 2017. She is preceded in death by parents, Willie Anthony Hooper and Beulah Mai Ayres Hooper of Waverly, TN; brother, Dr. Halden Wayne Hooper, Sr. of Gallatin, TN; sister, Mildred Jane Hooper Greenlee of Little Rock, AR; husband, Lacy Paul White of Nashville, TN and husband, James Lofton House, Sr. of Nashville, TN.
Mrs. House is survived by sons, Paul Richard White, Sr. (Barbara) of Nashville, TN and Larry Hooper White (Bobbie Shields) of Waverly, TN; grandsons, Paul Richard White, Jr., Thomas Kendrick White (Lauren), Robert L. White (Cindy) all of Nashville, TN, and William Christopher White (Diane) of San Diego, TN; and two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. House attended two years at Athens College in Athens, AL and later attended school at UT Nashville. She worked for the Manhattan Project in Oak Ridge, TN from 1942-1946 and FHA from 1946-1953. She worked with the Veterans Administration Hospital in Nashville, TN from 1953-1992 as an Administrative Assistant to the Chief of Medical Administration, Supervisor of Ward Administration.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Marshall Donnelly Combs Funeral Home. Service will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Marshall Donnelly Combs Funeral Home. A one hour visitation will be held prior to the service. A graveside service will be held Thursday afternoon at Wyly Cemetery in Waverly, TN.
Halden Wayne Hooper, Jr., John Ayres Greenlee, Stephen Mitchell Greenlee, William Hee Hooper, Paul Richard White, Jr., and Thomas Kendrick White will serve as pallbearers.
Robert Clifford Cowen, Jere D. Hooper, and George Edward Tate will serve as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Alive Hospice or the Humane Society in honor of Mrs. House.
