William Crowder Ayres

Preceded in death by parents John A. Ayres, Jr. and Frances White Crowder Ayres Nelson, uncles Douglas Ayres and Terrill Ayres.

Survived by brother and sister-in-law John A Ayres III and Priscilla P. Ayres, Knoxville, TN, aunt Constance Hewitt of Knoxville, TN, nephew Steven H Ayres of Knoxville, TN and uncles Virgil H Crowder and William C. Crowder, Sr. both of Lawrenceburg, TN.

Bill's great-grandfather was Brown Morgan Ayres, President of the University of Tennessee Knoxville in 1904. The main building on the Knoxville campus is named Ayres Hall after the Ayres family. William earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Christ United Methodist Church, 508 Franklin Rd, Franklin, TN 37069, with visitation from 12:00 pm until service time.
