William "Danny" Danforth Brown

Preceded in death by parents Doswell Parrish Brown, Jr. and Annetta Gray Brown, brother Doswell Parrish Brown, III, dear friends Gene Henderson, Bill White, and Larry Spenser. Survived by sisters Ellen Brown Rust (Richard), Franklin, TN and Debbie Brown Edson (Gib), Graham, NC; sister-in-law Susan Weems; nephews Andrew Edson, Matthew Edson, David Edson, Sean Weems, Marcie Brown Loe, and numerous cousins.

Danny graduated from Parmer Elementary School, Battle Ground Academy, class of ’66, and MTSU Class of ’70.

He was a Tax Auditor for 39 years in the State of TN, Dept. of ATF.

He was a long-time, devoted member of Scottsboro Baptist Church, where he served as Financial Secretary.

Danny loved witnessing to others about Jesus. He distributed tracks daily wherever he went, especially “God’s Bridge to Eternal Life.”

His long-time hobby was everything about the weather. The family would like to give a shout-out to the team at the National Weather Station, Nashville for answering thousands of his phone calls over the years about weather conditions.

Danny loved long distance cycling. A short ride for him would be 35 miles round trip. He was also a runner, and especially loved the track at David Lipscomb.

He was a founding member of the Green Hills YMCA, where he exercised regularly, and participated in pickup basketball games.

Danny didn’t cook, but was a meat & 3 connoisseur. He drove all over town to pick up his favorite foods, and every one of those restaurants knew him by name.

He spent his final year in assisted living at The Village at Bellevue, where he made many new friends and participated in numerous group activities, frequently winning at Uno and Jeopardy. Everyone there was very fond of him, and he loved them back.
