William "Buddy" Compton Abbott, Jr
July 30, 1947 – August 9, 2012
ABBOTT, William “Buddy” Compton – Age 65 of Nashville, TN passed away Thursday, the 9th of August 2012. Mr. Abbott was the son of the late William “Bill” and Margaret “Peg” Lowe Abbott. He is also preceded in death by his uncles, Marty and Ed Lowe. “Buddy” as most people knew him, was a 1965 graduate of Father Ryan High School and completed his Civil Engineering degree from Vanderbilt University. He retired from the US Army Corps of Engineers. Buddy was an avid golfer and a United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Theresa “Terri” Abbott; children, William “Trey” C. Abbott, III, Amy Theresa Abbott and Martin “Marty” W. Abbott; sisters, Susan A. (Ron) Leidner and Kathy A. McGugin; 6 nephews, 3 nieces and many cousins. Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family commencing at four o’clock and closing with the reciting of the Rosary at seven o’clock on Sunday, the 12th of August 2012 at Marshall-Donnelly-Combs. Funeral Mass will take place at one o’clock in the afternoon on Monday, the 13th of August 2012 at St. Henry Catholic Church. A private family burial with Military Honors will be on Tuesday at Middle Tennessee Veteran’s Cemetery. In Lieu of customary remembrances, memorial donations in honor of Buddy may be made to Catholic Charities of Tennessee or the Alzheimer’s Association.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Buddy was on of the nicest people I've ever known and what a smile. Terry you both have always been great folks and although I've not seen you for a very long time I always remember you fondly.

How can you think of Buddy without picturing that great smile? I have not seen him since high school, but those who have, remarked that he never changed! He will be missed by all! Deepest sympathy to Terri,his family and many friends!
