William Harold Elder

Age 76. March 21, 2014. Preceded in death by parents Mary & Vachel Elder of Prospect, TN and wife Alice Jarman White Elder. Harold is survived and will be dearly missed by his sister, Linda (Marvin) Smith; brother, Fred Elder; step-daughters, Terry White (Gary, Matt, Joe) Cearbaugh and Alicia White (Gerry) Mandel; nieces, Pam (Michael) Heathcock, Sandra Lee, Debra Smith & 7 great nieces & 1 great nephew. Born in Prospect, TN, Harold graduated from Prospect High School, followed by 36 years of service at the United Methodist Publishing House, during which time he met and married the love of his life, Alice Jarman White. Harold was an active member of Liberty United Methodist Church (in Prospect) for 65 years and was an avid Atlanta Braves and Vanderbilt Commodores fan. Special appreciation to his friends of many years Mary & Allen Diehl, Carol Lyles & Beasley Whitsell (deceased) and his friends at the Cracker Barrel (Sidco location). Celebration of Life Service will be conducted by Reverend Brad Smith on Tuesday, March 25th at one o’clock in Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall. Visitation with family and friends two hours prior to service at Woodlawn. Allen Diehl, Bo Wynn, Lewis Fields, Alan Jarman, Wesley Jarman, and Mike Heathcock will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the Liberty United Methodist Church, 1255 Liberty Road, Prospect, TN, 38477.
