

He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Louise Evans; brother, Philip Evans.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Judie; children, Philip Evans (Ladene), Nicole Nichols (Nick), Douglas Evans (Nancy) and Deborah Rose; grandsons, Justin Nichols and Clayton Rose and a granddaughter, Cherra Evans.
Bill retired from Marathon Electric Motors in 1994 after 36 years of service. He was the founder of the Nashville Golf Classic which benefits Special Olympics of Tennessee and is the longest running charity golf tournament in the area. This tournament has donated more than a million dollars to Special Olympics over the last 35 years. Bill has done a great amount of volunteer and charity events for many years for any group that called on him. He was known and loved by all of his family and friends for always being available to anyone in need of any kind of help at any time.
The family will receive friends at Hibbett & Hailey Funeral Home on May 20, 2010 from 11 am until time of service at 12:30 pm. Officiating will be John Duval. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to be made to Special Olympics.
