Mr. Hicks was born in Monterey, TN, on July 31, 1945, the son of the late Millard Porter Hicks and Fannie Mae Jernigan Hicks. He retired from Ashland Oil as a maintenance supervisor. Mr. Hicks enjoyed exercising at the YMCA, the pool, fishing, and woodworking. He was a member of Lincoya Hills Baptist Church and loved his church family. Survivors include his wife, Lela J. Hicks; a daughter, Angie Lyle (Billy); two sons, Timothy Wayne Hicks (Jamie) and Ken Tidwell (Debra); seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, February 23, 2017, at one o’clock, Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall.
Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Wednesday from two o’clock until eight o’clock and Thursday from eleven o’clock until the funeral hour at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home.
