Bill was born in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, the son of the late John William Kistner and Loretta Kathryn Paetz Kistner. He honorably served two tours in Vietnam in the United States Army and was a Purple Heart recipient. He was an Eagle Scout and a history buff. Bill will be remembered as a beloved father and brother.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Linda Swink, and two brothers-in-law, Jim Swink and Robert Griffin.
He is survived by his four children, Rebecca Eaton, Chris Kistner, David Kistner, and Robert Kistner; three sisters, Peggy Griesel, Mary Helen Bettcher and her husband, Mel, and Kathryn Griffin; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Church on Friday, July 27, 2018 at 10:00 am with Father Dan Steiner officiating.
Military Honors and Interment will be at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 2:00 pm.
