Bill is survived by his sons, Bill (Jennifer) Marcrum and Charles Marcrum; daughter, Renee (Sandy) Gregg; brother, Richard (Sissy) Marcrum; grandchildren, Tyler, Steve, Charlie, Daniel, Chelsea, Caylee, Andrea and Bobby; 8 great-grand children, many nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mary Marcrum; brothers, Jim and Tommy Marcrum; sisters, Eva May Zimmerman, Hazel Lane, Georgie Luther and Shirley Davis; son Steve Cathey; granddaughter, Jeanine Zeltner and great-grandson, Jonathan Zeltner.
Bill was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend to everyone. He was an amazing Golden Glove boxer in 1958. He loved spending time with family playing cards, visiting the lake and watching Titans football. Bill was a proud veteran of the US Army. He served as a police officer for the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department for 27 years and retired in 1989.
A special thank you to Alive Hospice of Murfreesboro for their loving care and support during his final days. Visitation will be from 5pm-9pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home located at 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, TN on Friday, July 26th. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 27th at 4pm with visitation prior from 2pm-4pm. Bill will be laid to rest at the Woodlawn Cemetery immediately following.
Pallbearers are Daniel Hunt, Charlie Marcrum, Tyler Bosler, Jesse Marcrum, Steve Marcrum and Billy Victory. Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Alive Hospice of Murfreesboro, 1629 Williams Dr, Murfreesboro, TN 37129
