

William Taylor Moon of Nashville, Tennessee, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend who passed away peacefully at the age of 96. He will be greatly missed by many. Preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Ruby Jeannette Murphey; parents, Clarence A. Moon and Frances J. Baker; sisters, Nell Martin and Rachel Hayes; and three brothers, Thomas Moon, Edward O’Neal Moon, and John Wallace Moon. Survived by daughter, Marsha Griffin (John); grandsons, William Jake Griffin and fiancé Allison Chandler Oldacre, John Tyler Griffin; and granddaughter, Valerie Grace Griffin. Born in New Hope, Alabama on August 2, 1919 he moved to Nashville after high school, graduated from Andrew Jackson University, and then served five years in the Army during World War II. He began a banking career of 33 years at Broadway National Bank, was Senior Vice President of Commerce Union Bank, and President of Commerce Union Bank in Lebanon, TN which later became Bank of America. He was a 33rd degree mason, a member of the Al Menah Shrine Temple, an elder in the Presbyterian Church with his current membership at Hillsboro Presbyterian Church, and a member of many other civic organizations. Being an avid hunter and fisherman, he loved the outdoors and gardening. He most enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and especially his grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home on Monday, March 28 from four o'clock to eight o'clock in the evening and again on Tuesday, March 29 from ten o'clock in the morning until service time at eleven-thirty, burial to follow. Pallbearers to include Dennis Moon, Eddie Moon, John Martin, Tom Moon, Seney Martin, and Stephen Moon.
