William “Duke” Pearce, Jr. – Age 91 of Nashville, TN passed away on the 17th day of March 2018. He is survived by his daughters, Lesa Pearce (Chuck) and Gena Miller (Tim); his sister, Cora Ann Aycock; grandsons, Mike Overton and Curtis Pearce Miller; nephews Marty Duckworth and Scott Duckworth (Shelly); one Great Niece and three Great Nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Betty Jean Harpe Pearce, and his brother, Donald F. Pearce.
He was a World War II Veteran with the United States Air Force Reserve serving from November 1946 until November 1949. After graduating from Auburn University in 1951, he moved to Nashville and worked as a commercial artist for Rich Printing Company before starting his own business, Madison Printing. One of his proudest achievements was designing a program for the Grand Ole Opry, printing and delivering those programs to the Ryman for over 35 years. The original artwork is on display at the Ryman Auditorium now.
Visitation will be on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 10:00 o’clock a.m. with the service to follow at 11:00 o’clock a.m. at Brentwood United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
