William (Bill) Tallon, a retired chemistry professor doing adjunct teaching at Lipscomb University, died Friday, October 29th, 2021 at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. He was 78 years old.

He was a handyman, constantly doing renovation projects around the house and yard. When not teaching chemistry he would be found teaching classes at Woodmont Hills Church where he was an elder for many years.
Born William Alexander Tallon in 1943 in Greenville, South Carolina to Henry Sheppard and Sadie Louise Tallon, he graduated from Furman University in 1965 with a BS in Chemistry. He obtained a PhD in Chemistry from Clemson University in 1970 and did his post doctorate at University of Florida from 1970 to 1971. He taught at Columbia State 1971 to 1981 and at Lipscomb University from 1981 to 2013 when he “officially” retired. He continued teaching adjunct Chemistry there until his death.
He is survived by his wife Becky, their two children Alex and Patricia, along with his two siblings Ricelyn Greer and Henry Sheppard Tallon, Jr.
