Wayne was born in Nashville on May 15, 1944. He graduated from the University of Tennessee, where he also earned his Doctorate of Jurisprudence. He built a career in real estate law and served his country as a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Air Force Judge Advocate General's Corps, from which he retired.
Wayne married Annie Sue (Cooper) Weems in Pyburn, Tennessee. He had a lifelong passion for flying, travel, history, space, and reading. He also collected eccentric things that made people happy.
He is survived by his wife, Annie Sue (Cooper) Weems, cousin, Sue Carol David Jones and numerous cousins, friends, and loved ones.
Visitation will be held at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204, on October 10, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. The Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 pm.
