

Born on October 2, 1924, in Petersburg, Tennessee, Winnie lived a life rooted in dedication, hard work, and love for family. She was a proud business owner, working alongside her husband in operating Village Cleaners, and was also involved with Village Jewelers. Through her work, she built lasting relationships and left a meaningful impact on those she served.
Winnie was deeply devoted to her family and friends, cherishing every moment spent with them. Her kindness, strength, and unwavering love will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She was married to Warren Verner Espy on August 30, 1941, and together they built a life centered on commitment, partnership, and shared success.
She was survived by daughters: Patricia Ann Espy and Sheree Lynn Espy; son, Joseph (Connie) Espy; grandchildren: Stasha (Alex) Hampton, Jenny Hampton, and Justin Weitzman; great grandchildren: Ivah Mai Hampton, Ellis Glen Hampton, Josephine Louise Hampton, Aubrey Weitzman, and Austin Weitzman; siblings: Louise (Roy) Markham, Louis Cashion, and Roy Lee Cashion; special friend: Janet Bethea.
Winnie's legacy is one of love, dedication, and community. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered in the hearts of her family and friends.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204, US, on March 18, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and again on March 19, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
A Graveside Service will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204, US, on March 19, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
