

Leland Winston Biggs, 84, passed from this life peacefully at Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tennessee on April 29, 2026.
Winston was born on November 16, 1941 in Knoxville, Tennessee, the son of Leland Calvin Biggs and Alma Dukes Biggs. His father moved the family to Sheffield, Alabama in 1948 where Winston lived his childhood and teenage years. He graduated from Mars Hill Bible School in Florence, Alabama and received his college degree from David Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee where he met the love of his life and many lifelong friends whom he cherished. Winston raised his family in Florence and moved to Nashville in the early 1980’s where he lived the rest of his life. He loved all foods, especially his famous chicken stew, Alabama football, cigars and any time he could be with family and friends. He was particularly fond and proud of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Winston is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Linda Jones Biggs, brothers William Dukes Biggs and David Warren Biggs, daughter Leigh Reames (Brian), his beloved grandchildren William Reames (Kynlie), Grey Reames (Clara), Mary Winston Cramer (Kevin) and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Rebecca Biggs Hamm, his son Leland Winston Biggs, Jr and infant children Mary Winston Biggs and Leland Calvin Biggs.
A celebration of life is scheduled at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home (660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, TN 37204) on May 5, 2026 at 2:30pm with visitation from 1:30-2:30pm.
