OBITUARY

Agripina Hidalgo Fernandez

September 30, 1932February 2, 2020

Agripina Hidalgo Fernandez, was born on September 30, 1932 to Ramon Hidalgo† and Fraxedes Lapena† in Santiago, Ilocos Sur, Philippines. She is the first born of seven children and has five brothers and one sister: Consuelo†, Rosario, Jovencio†, Alfredo, Dionisio and Soledad†.

Agripina married Jimmy Fernandez† on August 3, 1950 and they celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in 2015 before his passing. They were blessed with four children: Wilfreda, Daniel, Purificacion, and Rolando. They along with their children migrated to San Diego in 1959 and were able to purchase the family home in 1969. They have opened their home to many relatives and friends over the last 50 years.

She loved life and spending time with loved ones doing the things she loved such as crocheting, fishing, cooking, gardening, spending time with her grandchildren, and playing mahjong. She loved to travel with her husband and visited places such as Hawaii, Europe, and the Philippines. She also was involved in the San Diego-Ilocano Community by being a member of the Santiago Club. She was a devoted catholic and often spoke of meeting Pope John Paul II during her trip to Italy.

We will miss her contagious laughter, her generosity and kind heart. She will forever be remembered as our sweet Lola Pina.

Agripina joined our lord on 02/02/2020. She leaves to cherish her memories three loving children and partners: Wilfreda & Manuel, Daniel & Holly, Rolando & Persida. Eleven grandchildren and their partners: Amy, Marlena & Raymond, Mannette & James, Mayleh & Monique, Joseph, Christopher, Paul & Lauren, Melissa, Mary, Larissa, Rolando Jr. & Elizabeth.
