I worked with Carmen many years ago at 2-1-1 San Diego. She was one of the first people that I had met when I became a new employee. What I remember the most is when I spoke to her, she had the most gentle, sweet, and soft tone of voice. She was very compassionate towards the people who would call in need of help. I looked at her as an angel in the call center because of how kind she was to the callers. We became good friends during my tenure there. She always talked to me about her family and Jack. She would laugh and tell me how my daughter would call her when I'd be sleeping. Before I moved out of Cali, I stopped by her house and hung out for a moment. That was the last time that I saw her in person, but we kept in touch through Facebook until I had closed my account a few years ago. I know that she had a long battle and now she is resting in peace. I send my prayers and condolences to the family. Losing a loved one is never easy. Take good care of yourselves and each other.
