1 year ago today. I would have never in a million years thought my larger than life HERO second only to my dad, would be gone already. Although he’s gone, his spirit and his wisdom is still here with us, and I’ve even got a small toy for my 5 year old son who never got to meet him, that’s a Navy Seal and a dingy boat and the toy has the Seal Team we suit and tanks and my son calls him Uncle Willie when he’s playing with him in the tub. I miss you Uncle Willie and until we meet again, hope you’re keeping, papaw Wilson, Grandma Jewell, Roger and Dad company up there for me❤️

From the granddaughter of Connie and Orin Jones at Mitchell’s Camp, Willie is loved and missed so greatly! It’s been many years but Patty and Willie are fixtures in my mind and memories from years past. A love of fishing (really just shooting the breeze), a good beer, delicious BBQ, and amazing stories with JC, Herkie, and my grandpa Orin are forever in my memory.

The picture is to remind you who we are, and we hopy you still remember.
We are very sorry about the news that Willie passed away. We still remember the almost 3 months staying with your family, appreciated very much to take me and my sister in and treated us as a member of your family, and specially you, to help and take us to at least 20 places for job interviews (with John & Adam in your back carrier). My first driver license was from Chula Vista thanks of you and Willie.
It is such a privilege and honor to know your family and your parents too. Hope you will stay strong and please, tell me what we could do for ease your feelings, and call me at 714.782.8338. We are in Corona, CA.

This is the doll that Carroll bought for me while he was stationed in Japan.  I was so excited when he came to see us and brought it to me.  I have cherished it all these years.  I couldn’t believe he got it “special, for me.”  Dad was so proud of him and excited to see him.  They were close growing up and it meant a lot that he took the time to visit.  I sent Carroll this picture not too long ago, to let him know I still had it and that it meant the world to me, as did he!  -  Cheryl

I think of the football story when I look at this picture.  Carroll must have been quite a handful for Mamaw Rhoda when he was little, but she was always so proud of him.  She would beam when she spoke of him.  ❤️

Such a strikingly handsome man - especially in uniform!

Oh what a gentle giant! Uncle Carroll was always smiling. Never came across a problem he couldn't figure out or solve. Loved corny jokes, and getting together with family anytime.
Always, always willing to help anyone. Whether financially or to rebuild kitchen floors, only because niece asked if he would look at her parents ancient house.
How he loved Patty and his family.

I was very young when our family got together so I knew of Carroll by my sister and parents telling all the wonderful stories of Carroll . I would like to let Mary know that we are so sorry for your loss .  Larry and Mandy Wilson 

Since I was a little boy uncle Willie, always was a very hard working, loving, and gentle giant who my twin brother and I enjoyed every moment of his amazing stories, funny jokes, and that always present smile. He was a devout Navy Seal/UDT member, and shared lifelong stories of his friends overseas, and was always the first up, and always ready for work. After retiring he was still working hard with his construction business, and always thinking of ways to provide for his family. He’s loved by many, and missed by all. I’ll never forget the many memories I hold of you, and the knowledge shared of engineering and construction, as well as honor among brotherhoods when I became a police officer for over 12 years and served to the best of my ability, but never as hard as you did for this country. Love you, and miss you, and will always be ready to say hello again, and see those bright blue eyes and amazing smile.

Carroll was always a giant in my eyes.  A strong Navy Seal who honorably and gallantly served his country.  He brought me a doll from Japan when I was a little girl and I have always cherished that gift.  I loved him dearly.  May he now rest in eternal peace.
