

Clement Matan, age 88, passed away on March 23, 2026. Born on March 19, 1938, Clement will be remembered as devoted, hard-working, kind-hearted, faithful, thoughtful, selfless, and resilient. After this introduction, Clement will be lovingly remembered by the nickname “Charlie.”
Charlie served in the U.S. Navy for 30 years before transitioning to roles with the Metro Career Center. In each chapter of work and service, Charlie remained dedicated and caring to coworkers and to the clients served through the Metro Career Center.
Charlie was married to Nancy for 50 years and had six children: Robert, Patty, David, Billy, Jimmy, and Nadine. Charlie was especially close with daughter Nadine, granddaughters Kaitlyn and Shannon, and great-grandsons Ryu and Raiden.
A dedicated San Diego Padres fan, Charlie was a season ticket holder for 42 years. Charlie also enjoyed bowling, playing darts, reading the newspapers, and doing crossword puzzles—interests that reflected a steady, thoughtful spirit and a love of daily life’s simple routines.
