Daniel V Hernandez

Daniel V. Hernandez, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, passed away peacefully in Spring Valley, California, on November 21, 2024, at the age of 87. His life was marked by love, dedication, and a deep commitment to his family.

Born in Nogales, Arizona and raised in National City, California on Billy Goat Hill, Daniel was shaped by the values of hard work and resilience. He worked for many years at Rohr Industries, where he dedicated himself until his retirement. His strong work ethic and integrity were reflected in every aspect of his life.

Married to his loving wife, Margaret, for an incredible 68 years, their bond is a true testament to the deep and enduring love they shared. Together, they raised six children—Frances Jenkins, Daniel Jr. (Linda) Hernandez, Elizabeth (Zacarias III) Zarate, Mary Ellen Tellez, Margaret (Godfrey) Almazan, and Anita (Arthur) de Jesus. Daniel took great pride in watching them grow, succeed, and build their own families.

Daniel’s legacy lives on through his 17 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom carry forward the values of kindness, strength, and love that he instilled. His sly wit, joking humor, and distinct whistle will always be remembered. He was a cherished presence in their lives, a constant source of warmth, and his love for his family was evident in everything he did.

Daniel is also survived by his siblings: Teodora, Alicia, and Jesus, who will forever hold him in their hearts.

Daniel’s life was one of quiet strength, steadfast devotion, and deep love for his family. His legacy will live on in their hearts, continuing to inspire. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

A Funeral Mass for Daniel V. Hernandez will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025, at 12:30 PM at Holy Cross Cemetery, located at:
