Edna Mae Monk

Edna graduated from Sweetwater High School in 1949. She retired from San Diego City Schools in 1987 and had been a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, earning the Exemplar Degree. After retirement, she did volunteer work through the years, helping the Chula Vista Nature Ctr., LSS Caring Neighbors Program, Norman Pk. Senior Ctr., Chula Vista Police Dept., National City Chamber of Commerce, Meals on Wheels and National City Historical Society. She had been a member of the San Diego Parasol Strutters Entertainers and Queen Mum of the Sweet-Tarts Chapter, Red Hat Society.

Edna was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Edgar (Ed) Monk, and is survived by her daughter Cheri Darrieulat (Joe), grandson Mark Darrieulat, granddaughter Allison Meade (John), and great grandchildren Harper-Jean and Hayden James Meade, several cousins and many wonderful and caring friends.

Viewing at Del Angel Mortuary, National City on Dec.29th 6pm-8pm

Graveside service will be at Greenwood Cemetery on Dec 30th at 10am.
