He grew up in Chicago. Illinois, graduated from Glenbard High School in 1947. He worked as a Truck Driver from 1944-1947. He joined the U.S. Army on July 16, 1947 and assigned as a Transportation Driver and soon became a Champion Boxer in the service, during the Korean Conflict era. He received an Honorable Discharge as Private First Class on July 16, 1950. He also received an Occupational Medal with a Japan Clasp. He furthered his education, receiving a Registered Nurse Degree in 1963 and a Nurse Anesthetist Degree in 1972.

He was united in holy matrimony in Los Angeles, CA to the "love of his life" Carra Mae Beason, affectionately known to him as "WIFE". They later relocated to San Diego, CA where he later joined and became an active member at First United Methodist Church.

He pursued a nursing career in private practice for 47 years. He loved God, his wife, family, handicapping horses and life in general.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers, three sisters, one son, one daughter, five grandchildren and one great grandchild.

He is survived by one brother, one daughter, 22 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends.
