Marwilda L. Wilson, 92, also affectionately known as Becky, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family in the home she loved on February 7, 2025. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert D. Wilson (Chick), her son Dick, her grandson Evan and her son-in-law Louie. She leaves behind to remember her with smiles, four children: Judy Alvarez (Bill), Faye Esaias (Rick), Debbie Windt (Scott) and Dan Wilson (Debbie), seven grandchildren: Audi Kamena (Dave), Luis Alvarez (Jen), Troy Esaias, Tristen Esaias, Amanda Bliek (Damian), Travis Windt, and Kristin Lauria (Paul), and seven (soon to be eight) great-grandchildren: Cruz, Ila and Carlo Kamena, Levi and Talia Alvarez, Remy and Ryder Bliek, and baby Lauria due in April.
Our Mom/Nana/Grams/Gma/Great-Grandma leaves behind a legacy of wisdom, strength and love. It is hard to summarize a well-lived life of 92 years but we will try. She married her high school sweetheart and they were together for more than 62 years. She loved being a nurse, especially at Kearny Mesa Convalescent hospital when it was owned by the Hebbel family, whom she respected greatly. She loved her garden. She loved her neighbors and we want to thank them for looking out for her and caring for her. She loved her family, but the thing she probably loved more than anything was being a grandma and she was the best. One of her great neighbors, Jeri, said, “she was a tough cookie!” and that describes her well. Her sense of humor was evident even at the end. We will miss her but she asked us to be happy for her and we are. She is with our dad again, at last.
To reflect her generous spirit, in lieu of flowers we respectfully ask that if you wish to do something in her memory, please make a donation to a charity of your choice.
