Miguel was born to Darlene Echols Whitley and Samuel Whitley on November 16, 1986 in
Honolulu Hawaii. He was the first grandchild of the Whitley family and was loved by all. When
he was 4 month old, his parents moved to San Diego, Ca where he graduated from
Sweetwater High School, and spent the remainder of his life.
Miguel liked fishing, baseball, cooking and anything outdoors. He loved to travel, and was
never afraid to try new things. He also loved video games; especially Mario Kart, Mortal
Kombat and anything with great action.
Miguel was a huge music fan. He loved R&B, a little of hip hop and he especially liked
karaoke. Miguel will be remembered for his love of family, his big brown eyes, his beautiful
smile, and his infectious laugh. He was greatly loved and will be missed immensely.
Miguel is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Harbard and Ezra Echols of Mexia,
Texas.
Miguel is survived by his mother, Darlene Echols Whitley, father Samuel Whitley III, older
brother, Quincy Lamar Echols, sister, Heather Daneen Whitley, grandparents Samuel Whitley Jr,
and Margie Whitley of San Diego, CA, two aunts of Louisiana and six uncles of Texas, four
aunts and two uncles of Ca, and a host of cousins and church family and friends.
The family wants to express their deepest love and thanks for your prayers and support during
