

Our Hero
Albert Auguste Ledoyen (Bert) passed away at St. Boniface Hospital on December 2, 2016 at the age of 87.
Bert is survived by his wife Lorraine, children Louise, Mitch (Heather), Gilles (Penny), Grandchildren Marc (Lori), Daniel, Christopher, Ashley (Joe), Robert, Michael. Great Grandchildren Domenic and Kyler. As well his faithful dog, Kricket. He is preceded in death by his parents Marcel and Alice, and his brother John.
Bert was born on April 29, 1929 in St. Boniface Manitoba. He married Lorraine 62 years ago on November 27, 1954. He was a City of Winnipeg Firefighter for over 30 years, as well as driving school bus for their family business in St. Boniface. His interests were many, including giving sleigh rides at the
Festival de Voyageur, playing the accordion, he loved fishing and camping, as well taking driving vacations with his family. Bert was a lifetime member of the Belgian Club, he was a member of St. Boniface Wildlife Association, and a member of the metropolitan car club.
After his retirement, they enjoyed many winters in Arizona with friends. Bert had a very creative mind and would never throw anything out that could be re-purposed. He was always outside tinkering in his yard. Bert will be missed by his family and friends.
As per Bert’s wishes there will be no funeral.
The family would like to thank St Boniface Hospital for his care.
