Peacefully in her 90th year, Angie passed away on August 9th, 2012 after complications following hip surgery in July.
Surviving her are Daughters: Dianne Andrews (Randy) Grandsons Christopher (Sherri), Corey (Nicole), Great Grandchildren: Bryce, Arlynn, Addison, Branson, Scarlet & Sasha; Carol Almey (Glen) Grandchildren: Erin, Michael (Julie) and Jamie (Rhonda) Great Grandson Andrew; Heather Wardrop (Mitchell Teleglow) Grandchildren Meagan and Alex; Sisters Adele Duncan and Elize Hartley of Hamilton; Brother Bill Huppe (Joan) of Winnipeg and numerous nieces and nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her husband James in 1991; Brother Joseph; Sisters Mary Pittock, Anne Hamilton, and Laudina Simard.
Mom was born June 7, 1922 in Sprague, MB. the 5th of 8 children and raised in Vassar. She came to Winnipeg at the age of 18 and in Sept. of 1944 married James (Jim) Wardrop. She worked at various jobs, including child care, Picardys, Eatons shoe dept, The Bay and finally the St. Boniface School Division where she retired in 1987 as Head Secretary at Marion School. She enjoyed travelling to Hawaii, Phoenix, Florida, Toronto and British Columbia. She loved gardening which was evident at her home and cottage at Patricia Beach. She also loved all her four-legged companions.
Thank you to the nurses and health care aides at River Park Gardens for the excellent care mom received before and after her surgery.
Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, August 17th, 2012 at Green Acres Funeral Home.
