With deep sadness the family announces that Anthony (Tony) Franklin Grande left us to join his Lord and Saviour on Sunday, May 23. He has joined his twin sons , his parents, parents-in-law, three sisters-in-law and one brother-in law. He has left behind to remember him his loving wife Bonita (Bonnie) of 52 years, his beloved daughters Maeghan (Jakob) and Melissa (Halden) and six amazing grandchildren-Portia (Brenden), Jordan and Bastien; Kaedyn, Teagan and Shiloh. He is also survived by his two sisters, Linda(Ron) and Chris (Don), many sisters and brothers-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
Tony started doing odd jobs at a young age and was always a hard worker. He worked at the CN railways for 15 years and then started out in his own business. He sold vehicles of all sorts, including a line of boats for a few years. He was so friendly and outgoing and talkative that he made friends everywhere. Everyone remembers him as being fun loving, supportive and generous with everything.
Besides family, his greatest love was fishing, with travelling around on his Harley a close second, his greatest achievement was getting a pilot’s licence at 50 years of age.
We would like to thank everyone who helped us keep Tony at home as long as possible, the ladies are amazing. And also all the nurses and aides at Selkirk Hospital who did a wonderful job of looking after him to the end.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Cancer Care Manitoba as everyone there is so incredibly dedicated and compassionate.
