Suddenly on October 31, 2020. Bernice Kowaliuk passed away at St. Boniface General Hospital at the age of 75. She will always be lovingly remembered by her daughter Lori, son in law Hoan, brothers Maurice (Carol) and Garry, sister Stella and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Nick and her parents Steve and Martha Dolynchuk.
Bernice missed her husband Nick every day of the last 16 years, and while a day didn’t go by that Bernice and Lori didn’t think of him and wish he was there with them, they found a way to get through it together, and Mom found joy in her retirement through her hobbies and spending time with her daughter Lori and son in law Hoan.
Mom will always be remembered for how loving she was to everyone that she touched in her life. She had the biggest heart; was kind and thoughtful; and was always there to help when someone needed her. Mom’s endless wisdom provided us with guidance in our life whether it was caring for flowers, gardening, how to clean anything, or simply being a good person and knowing the right thing to do. She is the light that guided her family and the glue that held us all together. Bernice and Lori shared an amazing special bond between mother and daughter, who are also each other’s best friends and source of support, being there for each other no matter what. There was never a day that went by that mother and daughter did not talk to each other and share both everyday and special moments in their lives; spending time together and sharing conversation, laughter, and bringing each other joy.
“Mom, I love you with all my heart. You mean everything to me, are my best friend, and the source of love, guidance, and support I could always count on. Life will be hard to get through without you, and I pray that you will always be with me somehow. You and Dad will always be in my heart.” -- Love Always, Your Daughter Lori
A special thank you to her next door neighbors, Doris and Ray, true friends who always kept a close eye on her, and to Jenny and Gil who always kept in close touch from afar and visited whenever they could.
A private family ceremony will take place by invitation only.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
