I did  not meet Candice in person, but was deeply touched by her heart, compassion, and humor through a medication group we were both in online. We were both experiencing pretty high levels of pain, and her attitude was  such a bright light. We exchanged some also about love for nature. I am so sorry for your profound loss of someone you loved and who loved you. I wanted a miracle for her. If she could touch me at such a distance, I can only imagine how much she means to you up close. I wanted to share this even though I am a stranger - so you would know I have mot forgotten what she taught me and was saddened to learn of her passing on this full moon, about two months later.

Candice, you were my foster sister for 2 short years but a friend forever. Like all sisters we fought, but you always had my back and I had yours. We had some great times together, shared a lot of laughs and a lot of tears. We grew apart after we left the system and met back up over 10 years ago and just like always you were there for me no questions asked and picked right back up where we left off. You have a heart of gold. I will cherish every memory we have. Rest easy my friend. 

Peter, Cody and Sam - no words can express how my heart breaks for you all. May her beautiful memory provide you some comfort during this time.

Thank you for the beautiful service and sharing it with us all.  I will always remember Candice and will think of her often as the young, beautiful sassy girl I first met many years ago.   Hugs to you all.  

While I haven't been in Winnipeg for 10 years now, I still remember the nice dinner we had at your home as well as the pool party and I always looked forward to Candice's updates and terrific photos since then. Whenever I posted a photo to FB and got a thumbs-up from Candice, I knew I had either done something right (or more likely) had gotten lucky. Candice's updates and handling of this difficult disease over the past few years has been inspirational. My deepest condolences.

My heart goes out to you all this day.  Losing Candice is so very hard.  She was such a treasure of a person.  Loved her smile and laughter.  She took such amazing photographs.  A passion of hers.  She especially loved family.  Her own and extended family.  She has been a wonderful mom and wife.   I know she will be as treasured in heaven as she has been on earth.  Wish I could reach out and hug you all!  Know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all today.  Love, Auntie Barb and Uncle Dale.   


Candice spent the last part of her life fighting a disease  that weakened her both physically and mentally and truly tested her spirit. She fought it with determination  and bravery. This courage only framed her portrait. The real masterpiece  was painted with love, love for her husband, her children, her family and friends, and of her love of all of God's creation. This is the portrat, the life, that hangs in our memories.

Peter, I am truly saddened to hear of your loss.  I lost Bob in February so I can truly relate to what you, your children and family are going through.  Thinking of you and wishing you much strength now and over the coming months. 

When I think of family gatherings where Candice was, I see and hear her laughter...her bubbly, infectious laughter....the same one her dad Keith had.
I hope Peter, Cody & Samantha will draw strength from each other through this difficult time and pull up all those precious memories that Candice left all of us.
