June 7, 1954 ~ February 26, 2010

Peacefully, surrounded by family on February 26, 2010, Eleanor passed away following a lengthy illness.

She will forever be remembered by her husband of 31 years, John, sons David (Steph), Ian (Julie), Colin (Sarah), Adam, parents Eleanor, Brian Sr., brothers Brian (Cathy), John, sister-in-law Gloria, niece and nephews.

El grew up in East Kildonan and attended River East Collegiate. After a modeling career at Clifford’s, she spent many years at Hertz Rent-a-Car-Airport, meeting numerous celebrities along the way. After starting a family, El worked at Gateway Superstore, where her co-workers and customers adored her. She was a warm, friendly person showing kindness and respect to all who met her.

Being the only woman amongst 5 men, El was the heart and soul of her family and will be lovingly missed by them. Her presence always brightened any occasion through her wit and radiant smile.

A celebration of Eleanor’s life will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway Avenue. A private family inurnment will follow at a later date.
